Privacy Policy for Brother in House App

This privacy policy applies to the Brother in House App (hereby referred to as "Application") created by National Excellence Enterprise (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Free service. This service is provided for use "AS IS".

1. Information Collection and Use

The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include information such as:

  • Your device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address)
  • The pages of the Application that you visit, the time and date of your visit, and the time spent on those pages
  • The time spent on the Application
  • The operating system you use on your mobile device

The Application gathers location information about the location of your mobile device. You may at any time switch this off via the settings on your mobile device.

Personal Data

To communicate with you and facilitate the award application process, the Application explicitly creates an account using the following personal identifiable information:

  • Identity Data: Full Name.
  • Contact Data: Email Address, Phone Number.
  • Profile Data: Biography/Professional Summary, Profile Photograph.
  • User Content: Information provided in award applications (e.g., "Motivation", "Additional Info") and uploaded media files (documents, images, or videos supporting your application).

The Service Provider uses this information to verify your identity and manage your account, process and adjudicate your nominations/applications for National Excellence Awards, and contact you regarding crucial updates, notifications, or award results.

2. Third Party Access

Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to aid the Service Provider in improving the Application and their service. The Service Provider may share your information with third parties in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.

The Application utilizes third-party services that have their own Privacy Policies about handling data. Below are the links to the Privacy Policy of the third-party service providers used by the Application:

3. Data Retention and Deletion Policy

The Service Provider will retain User Provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. Verification data relating to award winners may be retained longer for historical and auditing purposes related to the National Excellence Awards.

If you would like to delete User Provided Data that you have provided via the Application, please contact us at support@brotherinhouse.co.zw. We will respond in a reasonable time. Please note that some or all of the User Provided Data may be required in order for the Application to function properly.

4. Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains. For example, we limit access to this information to authorized employees and contractors who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve their Application. Please be aware that, although we endeavor to provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.

5. Children's Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to take necessary action.

6. Access to Device Features

The Application may request access to specific features on your mobile device to function correctly:

  • Storage / Photos / Media: Required to allow you to upload profile photos or supporting documents/media for your award applications.
  • Internet: Required to connect to our backend servers to submit data.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
